This week sees the continuation of our Managing Mental Health in Schools seminar as part of Ineqe’s Summer Seminar Series. Each seminar is delivered by experts on the topics of suicide, absence, wellbeing and technology and mental health in schools. Absence from Education: A Safeguarding First approach

Rory McCallum

A senior qualified social worker & author of a number of critical learning reviews relating to children & young people. His work has informed the development of recent government policy in this area.
This session will reflect on the tragic events leading up to the death of Chadrack Mbala-Mulo. It will highlight the complex issues schools face in these challenging circumstances and provide practical tips to help overcome them.

Health, Wellbeing & Technology: Pathways to Harm

Hannah Paul

A digital safeguarding expert with a deep insight of online harms, developed over many years whilst working directly with schools, pupils, parents and carers.
This session will examine digital pathways to harm and the influence of technology on health and well-being.
It will also demonstrate how to capture and interpret digital footprints, helping delegates understand the positive and negative aspects associated with digital collateral.

Mental Health in Education: Communication When it Matters

Roseanna Long

An experienced Learning & Development professional, with a background in Interactive Media & a student of Psychotherapeutic Counselling.
This workshop will provide delegates with an opportunity to share their practical experience while focusing on responsibilities to manage mental health in schools. In doing so, it will provide an opportunity to reflect on the new DFE guidelines & advice from experienced Mental Health professionals.provides delegates with a practical understanding of the Department for Education guidelines on Managing Mental Health in Schools.
