Metaverse app allows kids into virtual strip clubs

Meta launches Facebook Reels to all users

Death of vulnerable transgender teenager was preventable

  • A coroner has reported that the death of a transgender teenager, Daniel France who struggled to get help from mental health services was preventable.
  • The teenager was known to his council and trust before taking his own life in 2020 despite two safeguarding referrals being made between 2019 and 2020 – both which were closed.
  • His death highlights “dangerous gaps” between urgent and non-urgent services that puts young people at risk.
