- Over 70 civil society organisations and professional bodies have penned an open letter urging the European Commission to withdraw the proposed Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) Regulation.

- South Yorkshire Police has defended its use of “community resolutions” to deal with dozens of sex offenders instead of prosecuting them.
- This follows an article reporting that South Yorkshire Police used the resolutions on 78 occasions over a period of 2 years.
- Community resolutions are often used to deal with “low-level” offending including drug possession or theft and don’t result in further punishment or criminal record.
- Offenders must admit to their crime and may be asked to apologise to the victim, promise not to repeat the offending or attend a course.
- On a national level, police have used community resolutions 870 times to deal with sex offences, including rape.
