Child sexual abuse images crimes sees major rise in area
- The NSPCC have revealed across the UK, the number of child sexual abuse image crimes have reached more than 33,000 – an increase of 25% compared to 2021/22.
- The report highlighted that social media apps are frequently used in these crimes, with 44% occurring on Snapchat.

US Senators raise new push to ban TikTok
- Another group of US regulators have proposed actions against TikTok.
- The new action is aimed to “address national security concerns posed by Chinese ownership of the app”.
- TikTok has maintained that it remains separate from its Chinese ownership, however, various reported have raised concerns that user data is being routed to China.

Instagram now lets you edit DMs up to 15 mins after sending them
- Instagram announced that it is rolling out the ability for users to edit their direct messages, for up to 15 minutes after sending them.
- Users will also get the option to pin up to three messaging threads to the top of their inbox.
- Users can now save their favourite stickers in direct messages for easy access.

Temporary accommodation may have been contributory factor in 55 child deaths
- Fifty-five children have died in recent years where temporary accommodation has been recorded as a possible contributory factor.
- 42 of these children were under the age of one, and 13 children were between one and 17.
- The figures come after the Government published statistics showing 142,490 children living in temporary accommodation at the end of September last year.
